· Jetboard Australia — "Jetsurf PROS Reveal Their Binding Secrets!" (~9 min). Timestamps below follow the video's own time. To swap your board between stances, see Swapping the pads — regular / goofy.
Three binding types, and they mostly interchange between boards. Which one you want comes down to how much feel and hold you're after — and the upgrade path from an Adventure is cheap to start.
Dual bindings — 0:47
1:02 — Fitted to the Adventure and Cruiser DFI. One binding faces each way, so anyone can jump on without swapping goofy / natural — ideal for a family board.
1:27 — The usual path: start on an Adventure, then upgrade the bindings for more feel of how the board rides.
Race bindings — 1:58
2:05 — Individual front and rear bindings. Interchangeable — to switch stance you just unbolt them and swap front-to-rear.
2:40 — The tops are common across boards. To put race bindings on an Adventure: buy a set of race bases and reuse the tops off your Adventure.
Heel-up ratchet bindings — 2:57
3:05 — The best bindings available — fitted to Titanium boards. A ratchet top you release, step in, then pull tight to your preference (firm to lock in, looser to bail).
3:32 — The base is different — a heel-up with a kicker, plus a side piece on the rear, and a toe edge your toes curl over to grip.
4:20 — Some come on an adjustable swivel base — it swivels and slides, so you can bring the bindings closer together and angle them (good for shorter riders).
4:51 — Not interchangeable goofy / natural — the tops and heel-ups are handed. Buy them as a natural or goofy set.
What interchanges — and the trap — 5:32
5:39 — The stud pattern (PCD) is the same on every binding, and the tops and ratchets move freely between boards.
5:54 — The trap: the front "V" dual binding. It has about three versions across models (and again on the early GP100s).
6:27 — Example — dual bindings onto a Race board: the Adventure base won't fit; you need the Cruiser DFI base (bolt pattern closer together, slightly steeper angle). Tops still swap over.
The upgrade path — 6:52
6:52 — Adventure → race bindings: cheap — buy two race bases, keep your tops.
7:16 — Race → heel-up ratchet: buy the ratchet top + heel-up base, bolts straight on.
7:26 — One more step: swivel bases — not cheap, but worth it for long-distance and surf riding.
Recap: dual → Adventure & Cruiser DFI · race → Race board (swaps stance easily) · heel-up ratchet → Titanium (bought as a handed set). Tops and ratchets interchange between boards; only the front V dual binding is model-specific. Many riders keep two sets — dual for family, race or ratchet for solo and surf.
Caution: when ordering, match the base to your board, not just the top — the front V dual binding and the dual bases differ across the Adventure, Cruiser DFI and early GP models. Heel-up ratchet sets are handed, so order natural or goofy to match your stance.
