The iCU is the board's battery and computer — it powers the starter, bilge pump, and signalization, and runs the fuel injection. You'll pull it to replace the unit, to free up space in the engine compartment, or to carry it in hand luggage for a flight (all its details are printed on it, so it's allowed).
Tools & supplies
Hex key set (included with every JetSurf) — for the two holder screws
Flat screwdriver (to release the starter connector case)
Phone or camera to photograph the connector layout
Find the iCU on the left side of the bay, towards the nose. It has two connectors — the main connector and the starter connector.
Disconnect the main connector — lift the pin up, then pull the connector off.
Disconnect the starter connector — push the connector case in with a finger or a screwdriver on the plastic insert, then pull it off.
Unscrew the two screws on the bottom of the iron holder and lift the iCU out.
Installation
Set the iCU back into the holder and fit its two screws.
Reconnect the starter connector, then the main connector — press each fully home, then push the main connector's pin back down to lock it.
Check the bay is dry, then refit the fuel tank (see the fuel tank guide — pump wire first, then the fuel and vent lines).
Power on and confirm the board activates and pairs normally before you ride.
Tip: photograph the two connectors before you unplug anything. The plugs are keyed, but a reference shot removes all doubt — and note which way the main connector's locking pin sits.
Caution: release the starter connector by its plastic case, never by pulling the wire. The electronics bay must be dry before you close it up — a damp iCU connector corrodes and throws faults. For a flight, the iCU travels in hand luggage, never in the packed board.
