The spark plug is one of the fastest checks you can run on a gas board — do it before every few sessions, and any time the engine feels down on power or is hard to start.

Tools & supplies

Combination wrench (included with every JetSurf)
Replacement spark plug — correct heat range for your model
Clean rag

Steps

0:00 — Remove the spark plug cover and disconnect the connector.
0:02 — Using the combination wrench included with every JetSurf, loosen the spark plug.
0:12 — Unscrew the spark plug completely and remove it from the surfboard.
0:30 — Insert the (new) spark plug into the surfboard. Screw it in and tighten it using the wrench.
0:47 — Connect the spark plug boot and install the boot cover.

Tip: thread the plug in by hand first and turn it until it seats, then give it a final snug with the wrench. If it doesn't turn freely by hand, back it out and re-start the threads.

Caution: never force the wrench on the first few turns — that's how the head gets cross-threaded. Hand-start every time.
