Fuel tank removal & installation

You'll pull the fuel tank any time you service the fuel system, chase down a leak, or drain old fuel before storage. Work in a ventilated area, away from ignition sources, and have a rag ready for the small amount of fuel that can weep from the fittings.

Tools & supplies

Clean rag
Nitrile gloves
Optional: fuel-safe container if you're draining the tank

Removal

0:14 — Disconnect the CPS fitting on the fuel line.
0:14 — Release the fuel pump connector on the left side of the tank (relative to the direction of travel).
0:26 — Loosen the Velcro strap securing the tank and carefully lift the tank out.
0:34 — Disconnect the vent line connector by pressing the locking tab toward the tank.

Installation

0:46 — Connect the vent hose, then set the fuel tank back into the JetSurf.
1:04 — Thread the Velcro strap through the buckle and fasten it securely.
1:04 — Connect the fuel pump connector, followed by the CPS fitting.

Tip: reassembly is the reverse of removal — vent line first, then strap, then pump connector, then CPS fitting. Seat the tank before you tension the strap so it sits flat in the bay.

Caution: the vent connector has a locking tab — press it toward the tank to release. Don't pull the line without releasing the tab, or you'll damage the fitting. Wipe up any fuel and let the bay air out before closing the board up.
