The tube is a padded flotation collar that fits around the board — good for family, kids, and learning. Inflate it first, seat the board into the rubber section at the nose, then strap it down at the handles and the rear buckle.

You'll need

Inflate the tube

  1. 0:35 — Push the pump fitting into the tube's inlet and turn it to lock, then pump.
  2. 0:48 — Inflate to 3.6 PSI — read it off the pump gauge. Don't over-inflate.

Fit the board

  1. 0:57 — Lay the inflated tube flat on clear ground — no stones or sharp shells that could damage the underside.
  2. 1:13 — With two people, lift the board in — mind the rear fin. Letting a little air out of the tube now makes it easier to fit.
  3. 1:29 — Set the board in and lift the tube sides up around it.
  4. 1:37 — Slide the board forward so the nose locates into the rubber tube section at the front. Check it's centred.

Strap it down

  1. 1:44 — Lift the tubes up and, at the front, put the clips through the board's handles — they pull the tube in tight.
  2. 2:08 — At the rear, thread the webbing through the buckle and back through on itself, pull it tight, and make sure the tubes are pulled up.

Finish

  1. 2:18 — If you let air out to fit the board, re-pump the tube back to 3.6 PSI.
  2. 2:35 — Fit the valve cap — half a turn — and you're done.
Tip: deflate slightly to fit, then top back up to 3.6 PSI once it's clipped and strapped — fighting a fully hard tube onto the board is the slow way to do it.
Caution: check the ground for stones and shells before you lay the tube down — a puncture in the underside is easy to cause and hard to spot. Don't exceed 3.6 PSI; an over-inflated tube can split a seam in the sun.
